Originally from Trelawny, Jamaica, she resides in Clermont, FL with husband, Omar Brown, also an accomplished athlete. Campbell-Brown began her career in 1999 when she became the first female to win the World Youth Games and go on the next year to win a silver medal at the Sydney games in a relay. She continued her success by receiving the title of the "Most Successful Caribbean Athlete" at the Sydney Olympic Games. Campbell-Brown also received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
